Private external memory
Sign in to your Bucket.
A quiet place to save what you don't want to keep carrying.
Your Bucket is private unless you choose to share something.
Everything's safe.
You don't have to organize it now.

This makes the memory easier to find. It never replaces your original.

Collections
A memory can belong to more than one collection.
What BrainBucket noticed
Name it once. I’ll file the rest.
A collection fills itself. Anything you save about its topic lands in it — old and new, without moving a thing.
Old memories about it are filed as soon as you press Create. New ones, as soon as they sync.
Your collections
A memory can live in several.
No collections yet. Name one above and I’ll file what fits.

Privacy & data
Download complete export
Download a private JSON copy of your complete Bucket, including exact Text, Link, and File originals plus memories that are only safe on this device. Export is optional and must finish completely or no file is created.
Cloud privacy
Your memories are private to your account. BrainBucket encrypts locally saved memories on this device and stores synced originals in private authenticated cloud storage with platform encryption at rest.
Local memory contents are encrypted, while operational details such as filename, type, size, checksum, and retry state may remain readable in this browser's IndexedDB.
Cloud originals are not end-to-end or zero-knowledge encrypted. BrainBucket infrastructure and authorized server services can access them when required to provide the product.
When optional AI-powered understanding or semantic Find is configured, BrainBucket may send only the specific memory, bounded search segment, or current query needed for that function to the configured provider—not unrelated Bucket history. Understanding a memory includes any note you added to it. Provider privacy and retention depend on deployment configuration; this is not zero-knowledge external processing.
For a saved link, BrainBucket's server may retrieve the public page's title, description, and preview image so the memory is recognizable. Your browser does not contact that site until you open the link.
SMS and MMS content passes through the messaging provider. A Share key is save-only: it can add memories but cannot read your Bucket or manage your account.
Deleting BrainBucket application data does not promise immediate erasure of infrastructure, authentication, messaging, or AI provider operational logs, security records, or backups. Those records follow configured provider retention.
Delete account
This permanently deletes your BrainBucket cloud memories, derived Understanding and Find data, Share and phone ingress state, account, and the encrypted local memories and key stored by BrainBucket on this device. Download an export first if you want one; it is not required.
BrainBucket clears this browser's local data after deletion is confirmed. Other browsers or devices may still retain encrypted local copies and their keys; deleting the cloud account cannot remotely erase their IndexedDB, and reconnecting does not automatically wipe them. Clear BrainBucket site data on each other device to remove those copies.
This action is permanent. New saves are locked as soon as deletion begins.

iPhone Quick Start
Share to BrainBucket from iPhone
You don't need the BrainBucket app yet. Create one Shortcut named Save to BrainBucket, enable Show in Share Sheet, and let it accept URLs, text, images, and files.
- Create a private Share key below.
- In Shortcuts, enable Show in Share Sheet and receive Shortcut Input as URLs, text, images, or files.
- At the start of the Shortcut, use Current Date. Format it once with the custom format
yyyyMMdd'T'HHmmss.SSS, putbb-in front, and save that text as an Ingress ID variable. - Use that same Ingress ID for the whole run and any retry. Add it as the
X-BrainBucket-Ingress-Idheader; add your key asAuthorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY. - Branch on Shortcut Input type. Keep URL and text branches on the Share endpoint. For photos or one video, keep the actual files in order and ask for context once. Use Repeat with Each and Base64 Encode each file directly with line breaks set to None. Send one file per request to
/api/ingress/share-uploadas JSON fieldsfile_data_base64,filename,index(starting at zero),total, and optional exactcontext. Reuse one Ingress ID and the unchanged saved files on retry. Success requiressaved: trueafter all files arrive. Do not run Get URLs on Photo Media or video; do not use Get Images, Convert Image, or Encode Media. Keep a private copy of the selected files, order, context and Ingress ID in Files until complete so a stopped Shortcut can resume. Photos have no fixed count cap; each original is limited to 20 MiB. Video supports MP4 and QuickTime MOV with download-only originals. Existing single-file/PDF multipart fieldfileremains supported. - During setup, use Quick Look on the actual Get Contents of URL response. For URL/text,
{"saved":true}confirms success. For file uploads, requiresavedto be true andreceivedto equaltotal;saved: falsemeans the upload is incomplete.
The date-based Ingress ID is not a secret or cryptographic ID; the Bearer key supplies security. Generate it once per run so a retry converges instead of duplicating memories.
Then use the Shortcut from Instagram, Safari, Photos, or Files. BrainBucket saves exactly what the source app provides. Instagram may provide only a link; BrainBucket does not promise video bytes.
Your key can only save captures. It cannot read your Bucket. BrainBucket shows it once, so add it to your Shortcut before leaving this page.

Connect your phone
BrainBucket destination:
Once connected, send texts, links, and photos to this destination. Check Bucket to see what saved. Send up to four photos in one message without other attachments. All photos and your caption save together as one memory. Messages with more than four photos cannot be saved. BrainBucket doesn't send reply texts.
Text messages may reduce photo quality. Upload directly to preserve the original.
Checking your connection…
Generate a short-lived code, then text LINK CODE to your BrainBucket number. This proves you control the phone. Standard carrier messaging rates may apply.
Text this exact message to the BrainBucket destination above before it expires:
